Dr. Rashmi Goswami is the staff hematopathologist at the University Health Network. She is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathobiology. Dr. Rashmi Goswami received her undergraduate degrees in Genetics and Medical Microbiology from the University of Manitoba, and her undergraduate medical degree from the University of Toronto. She subsequently completed her residency in Anatomical Pathology at McGill University. Then, she returned to the University of Toronto to complete her Ph.D. on microRNAs in the prognosis of mantle cell lymphoma. She went on to obtain clinical subspecialty training in Hematopathology and Molecular Genetic Pathology at the Vancouver General Hospital/British Columbia Cancer Agency and MD Anderson Cancer Center, and holds U.S. board certification in both subspecialties. Her research interests include the application of molecular techniques to assist in the diagnosis and prognosis of solid and hematologic tumors, and understanding the genetic and epigenetic landscape of leukemias and lymphomas to determine their impact on disease pathogenesis.

Dr. Weei-Yuarn Huang is the Medical Director of Molecular Diagnostics in the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Molecular Diagnostics, Sunnybrook Health Science Center. He received his medical degree in Taipei, Taiwan, and subsequently completed his graduate studies at the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology at the University of Toronto. Following residency training and fellowship at Harvard’s Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, he took on his first academic appointment at Dalhousie University in 2005. Dr. Weei-Yuarn Huang’s main research interest is developing molecular assays using advanced molecular techniques, such as next-generation sequencing, epigenetic SNP arrays, and Nanopore long reads sequencing. He has applied these tools to study the genomic and epigenomic features of gastrointestinal neuroendocrine neoplasms, appendiceal tumors, and pancreatic cancers.
