Juan-Camilo Parra-Toro is a Civil Engineer with a Ph.D. in Hydraulic and Environmental Engineering from the Universidad Politécnica de Valencia. He is currently a professor at the Politécnico Colombiano Jaime Isaza Cadavid, where he leads research in hydrological risk assessment, climate change impact analysis, atmospheric studies, and remote sensing applications. His expertise includes the design of decision-support tools and the implementation of strategies for sustainable water management. Dr. Parra Toro has collaborated with various research institutions. He has published extensively in international journals and has participated in numerous conferences, sharing his findings on the effects of climate variability and land use on water resources. His current research focuses on integrating remote sensing data to assess hydrological risks and to perform hydraulic modelling, and also to develop climate change adaptation strategies for Andean river basins.
