Cláudio Gomes has a Ph.D. in theoretical physics, and conducts research on gravitation and cosmology, as well as engages in outreach activities. Currently, he is a researcher at Centro de Física das Universidades do Minho e do Porto and at Okeanos-University of the Azores. He has been the National Coordinator for World Space Week in Portugal since 2020.
