Author Biographies

Dr. Chuyang Yang is an Assistant Professor at the School of Graduate Studies of Embry‑Riddle Aeronautical University Daytona Beach. Dr. Yang holds a Ph.D. in Technology and an M.S. in Aviation and Aerospace Management from Purdue University. In 2020, he was one of the twelve recipients of the Graduate Research Award from the National Academies of Science, Engineering, and Medicine Transportation Research Board’s Airport Cooperative Research Program (ACRP). Dr. Yang specializes in data-driven solutions to enhance aviation safety, accessibility, and sustainability, focusing on airports, traditional aircraft, and uncrewed aerial systems (UAS). His expertise lies in statistical methods, interdisciplinary mixed study design, artificial intelligence, and natural language processing to improve national airspace system (NAS) safety and efficiency. From 2022 to 2024, Dr. Yang was an assistant professor and program coordinator of the Aviation Management Technology Program at the Eastern Michigan University School of Technology and Professional Services Management. He co-founded the Center of Autonomous Machine Computing and Cybersecurity (CAMC2)) at EMU. Despite only two years as a tenure-track faculty member at Eastern Michigan University, Dr. Yang led the successful Aviation Accreditation Board International (AABI) accreditation of EMU Aviation Programs and has been recognized as Ronald W. Collins Distinguished Faculty (the most prestigious award at Eastern Michigan University).
Dr. Ryan J. Wallace is an Associate Professor at the Aeronautical Science Department, College of Aviation, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. Dr. Wallace received a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Aeronautics: Air Traffic Control, and a Master of Science (M.S.) in Aviation from the University of North Dakota. He obtained his Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Applied Educational Studies: Aviation Sciences from Oklahoma State University (Main Campus). His research interests include unmanned aircraft system (UAS) safety, security, human factors, and public policy.
Chenyu Huang, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor in the Aviation Institute at the University of Nebraska-Omaha. He holds a bachelor's degree in Communication Engineering, received a master's degree in Air Transportation Planning and Management and Aerospace and Aviation Management, and a Ph.D. in Aviation Technology from Purdue University. Dr. Huang is an FAA-certified Advanced Ground Instructor, an FAA Private Pilot, a Remote Pilot, and a Certified Member of the American Airport Association of Executives. His research areas include automated solutions to improve aviation safety, the quantitative modeling of aviation operations, and unmanned aircraft system (UAS) operations.
