Author Biographies

Aieshea Banks earned a BA in Communicative Disorders (2001) and an MA in Communicative Disorders (2003) from California State University, Fullerton. In 2022, she earned a PhD in Rehabilitation Sciences. She is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at Loma Linda University, within the School of Allied Health Professions. Her work in speech-language pathology has resulted in a publication, along with numerous presentations, lectures, and courses on topics such as neurodiversity, counseling in speech-language pathology, and supervising speech-language pathology assistants (SLPAs). She holds memberships in professional organizations, including the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), the California Speech-Language-Hearing Association (CSHA), and the National Black Association for Speech-Language and Hearing (NBASLH). Her research interests include neurodiversity, social communication, social interaction, autism, and ADHD.
