Prof. Dr. Srdjan M. Vlajkovic received his MD and PhD from the University of Belgrade. He is currently an Associate Professor in sensory neuroscience at the University of Auckland. His research focus is on molecular mechanisms of sensorineural hearing loss and the development of adenosine receptor-based inner ear therapeutics. His translational research in this area has implications for the treatment of several forms of sensorineural hearing loss, such as those induced by exposure to noise, ototoxic drugs, cochlear implantation, and ageing.
