Prof. Dr. Wei Shui is a professor at the School of Environment and Resources at Fuzhou University. In June 2006, he received his Ph.D.
degree from Sun Yat-sen University, Department of Urban and
Regional Planning, National Key Discipline of Human Geography. From September
2009 to October 2010, he visited the Department of Geography of the Western
Michigan University, and the Center for Global Change and Earth Observation of
Michigan State University, and was a visiting professor at Western Michigan
University. He studied at the International University of Venice, Peking
University and other universities in Italy. From 1997 to 2013, he worked at the
College of Agronomy, Sichuan Agricultural University. Furthermore, he is also
the Executive Director and Deputy Secretary-General of the Sichuan Geographical
Society. His research topics mainly include human geography, urban and rural
planning, ecological geography, land use/cover change and ecological and
environmental effects, remote sensing and geographic information technology
applications.
