Dr. Frederic Jaisser is a Director of Research at the French National Institute of Health and Medical Research (INSERM). He completed his MD studies in Medicine (1989) and PhD studies in Life Sciences at Paris VII University (1993) and Diploma studies in Biomedical Innovation and Research Transfer at Paris V University (2001). In 2003, he joined the Collège de France in Paris and currently manages a team of the INSERM Unit U1138 at the Cordeliers Research Centre, where he is Deputy Director and Head of the “Pathophysiology, Metabolism” Department. He was Chair of the European Network on Aldosterone (EU COST Action ADMIRE). His research interests include the understanding of pathophysiological roles and signaling pathways whereby the hormone aldosterone promotes pathologies in various organs, including the kidney and cardiovascular system.
