Dr. Stefana Matović is a
Research Associate at the Geographical Institute "Jovan Cvijić" of
the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts in Belgrade, Serbia, within the
Department of Social Geography. Previously, she was employed as a Research Assistant
at the Faculty of Forestry, University of Belgrade, within the Ecological
Engineering for Soil and Water Resources Protection study programs, and as a
Teaching Associate at the Faculty of Geography, University of Belgrade in the
Department of Geography. Dr. Matović holds a doctoral degree in Biotechnical
Sciences from the University of Belgrade, Faculty of Forestry, Department of Ecological
Engineering for soil water resources protection. Before this, she earned a master’s degree in Geography from the University of Belgrade, Faculty of
Geography, Department of Geography. Her primary research interests lie in
sustainable development, particularly its social and economic dimensions and broader aspects of social geography. Dr. Matović has authored several papers published in leading indexed databases such as Web of Science (Clarivate
Analytics) and Scopus. She has also delivered plenary lectures at various conferences
and contributed as an author to Springer’s encyclopedia Climate Action. Additionally, Dr. Matović participated in a Soil
Erosion Modelling workshop organized by the Joint Research Centre of the
European Commission. She is an active member of the Serbian Geographical
Society.
