Professor Sarah Kettley is Chair of Material and Design Innovation at the Edinburgh College of Art, University of Edinburgh. She completed her PhD studies in Computer Science at Edinburgh Napier University. She recently led the Co-Design work on Healthier Working Lives, Art-Based Methods for the MRC Eating Disorder and Autism Collabrative, and was PI on the EPSRC Internet of Soft Things project. She has published in various journals across disciplines, and exhibits practice research internationally. She serves as a co-chair of the RAFT research group at Edinburgh College of Art, and is a founding member of the international Arcintex research network. Her teaching disciplines include craft, social design, and service design, and her interests include craft as epistemology, the intersection of therapeutic modalities with participatory design for health, and relationality.
