Prof. Yungui Ma currently works as a Professor and Doctoral Supervisor at the State Key Lab of Modern Optical Instrumentation, Centre for Optical and Electromagnetic Research, College of Optical Science and Engineering, International Research Center for Advanced Photonics, Zhejiang University, China. In 2000, he received his bachelor's degree from Lanzhou University (School of Physical Science and Technology). From 2001 to 2002, he went to Shinshu University in Japan for exchange. In 2005, he received his doctorate from Lanzhou University (School of Physical Science and Technology). From 2005 to 2010, he worked as a Research Fellow and Research Scientist at the National University of Singapore. His research directions are new principles and applications of artificial metamaterials/metasurfaces (exploring new optical/electromagnetic functional devices and technologies) and new control theory and device application of near-field thermal optical radiation (exploring the application of microstructure optics in the field of thermal energy). He serves as the Secretary-General and Executive Director of Zhejiang Optical Society, Executive Director of China Metamaterials Society, member of the Optical Society of America, and member of SPIE.
