Dr. Hui-Kuo George Shu has extensive expertise in the use of advanced radiotherapy techniques including intensity-modulated radiation therapy, intensity modulated proton therapy, stereotactic radiosurgery, fractionated stereotactic radiotherapy, stereotactic body radiation therapy, and image-guided radiation therapy. He currently specializes in the treatment of patients with CNS tumors at the Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University and the Emory Proton Therapy Center. He also serves as medical director of the Emory Radiation Oncology Clifton campus. He previously served as faculty at the University of Pennsylvania treating adult and pediatric brain tumor patients at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. He is currently Professor of Radiation Oncology at Emory University where he has served on the faculty as a physician-scientist since 2005. He is a Fellow of the American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology (FASTRO). He received his MD and PhD degrees at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio and completed post-graduate training in radiation oncology the University of California in San Francisco (UCSF). His current research interests involve developing/utilizing advanced imaging modalities and new innovative therapies for brain tumors.
