Ning Lei, Doctor, Xichang College of Tourism and Urban and Rural Planning College teacher, is mainly engaged in ‘urban and regional planning, big data and urban planning’-related research. In the past three years, he has presided over and been a major participant in provincial and municipal level issues and participated in the preparation of municipals, counties, townships, and cities for three-level territorial spatial planning. He has been first author/co-author of more than 20 academic papers, of which more than 10 are CSSCI, CSCD, and SCI academic papers.

Professor Charlie Q. L. Xue has designed buildings in China and the USA for the past 40 + years and taught architecture at City University of Hong Kong since 1995. His teaching ranges from Ph.D. to bachelor degree students on design studio (Y1, 2, 3, and 4), architectural history, and theory. He trained and graduated the first group of Ph.D. students of architecture at City University of Hong Kong. He is the author of 16 books and 200 academic articles/book chapters. His research focuses on architectural design globalization, post-war Hong Kong architecture, and high-density architectural design. His book ‘Hong Kong Architecture 1945-2015: from colonial to global’ was awarded by the CICA (International Committee of Architectural Critics) in 2017. He is the principal investigator of 18 research projects funded by the National Science Foundation of China, Sumitomo Foundation of Japan, Hong Kong government, and City University of Hong Kong. He is the editorial board member of international journals and an external examiner for graduate students of universities in Hong Kong, Chinese mainland, Australia, Italy, the UK, and the USA. He is an award-winning designer and writer, and supervises students to win the design competitions both in China and abroad.
