Amadou Alpha Sall is a virologist titular of a Doctorate in Public Health. He is currently the General Administrator of the Institute Pasteur of Dakar (IPD). His research and valuation mainly concentrate on the diagnosis, the ecology, and the evolution of the arbovirus and the viruses of hemorrhagic fevers. Dr. Sall is a member of expert groups for the WHO and OIE, and he is the Chairman of the Global Outbreak Alert and Response Network (GOARN).
