Wang Yang, male, born in February 1989 in Jurong, Jiangsu Province, holds a Ph.D. and is an Associate Professor, Ph.D. supervisor, and Deputy Head of the Department of Geology (responsible for research and graduate activities). He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Geological Engineering from the China University of Mining and Technology in 2011. From 2014 to 2016, he was a visiting scholar at Pennsylvania State University in the United States, funded by the China Scholarship Council. In June 2017, he completed his Ph.D. in Geological Resources and Geological Engineering at the China University of Mining and Technology. His main research areas include unconventional oil and gas geology (shale gas, coal-associated gas), evaluation and utilization of resources in closed mines, and mine structures.
