Dr. HU Yonghui is currently an associate professor at the School of Philosophy in Nanjing University, and is the Director of the Department of Oriental Philosophies and Religions. Dr. Hu obtained his doctorate in Chinese philosophy at Nanjing University (2013), and his thesis was awarded Jiangsu Province Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation Award (2015). Since the year 2013, Dr. Hu has held office at the School of Philosophy in Nanjing University after his graduation, firstly as assistant researcher and then as associate professor. In addition, he was a visiting researcher at the University of Goettingen. Dr. Hu serves as a researcher in the Center for the Study of Oriental Philosophy and Religious Culture in Nanjing University and is the director of the editorial board of Studies of Buddhist Culture (CSSCI). He is also a member of the editorial board of Buddhist Studies, which is a journal issued by Siberian Division of the Russian Academy of Science. At the same time, Dr. Hu is among the first batch of think-tank experts of Buddhist sinicization, organized by the Jiangsu Buddhist Association, and is the Vice Chairman of the Nanjing Three-Treatise School Research Association. He also serves as a graduate tutor in Qixia Mountain Branch of the Buddhist Academy of China and Jiangsu Buddhist Academy of Nuns. The research interests and fields of Dr. Hu Yonghui include Chinese philosophy, modern Chinese Buddhism, and the relationship between Confucianism, Buddhism, and Taoism.
