Nives Mikelić Preradović is the Head of the Chair for the Knowledge Organization in the Department of Information and Communication Sciences at the University of Zagreb. She holds a Bachelor degree in Information Science and in the Croatian language from the University of Zagreb. She then completed her Master’s degree in Information Science (M.Sc.) at the University of Zagreb in 2003, and a Master's degree in Computer Speech, Text and Internet Technology (M Phil) at the University of Cambridge in 2004. Furthermore, in 2008, she finished her Ph.D. in Information Science at the University of Zagreb. Nives Mikelić Preradović has been awarded the Ivan Filipovic national award for Service Learning in Higher Education (2017), the JFDP scholarship in academic year 2005/2006, and the MTCP (Malaysian Technical Cooperation Program) scholarship in 2005, among others. Her research keywords include childhood education; service learning, learner corpora, community-engaged learning, natural language processing, lexical semantics, digital storytelling, and preschool education.
