Jimmy is a senior occupational and analytical chemist at SafeWork NSW in the area of occupational and chemical exposure analysis. He received a PhD from the University of Newcastle and worked at Lehigh University in Pennsylvania and Monash University in Victoria as a post-doc in the early 2000s. Since 2004, Jimmy has worked at SafeWork NSW on a range of projects focusing on work exposures and health. His interests include developing and using sophisticated techniques to analyse biological samples for trace levels of toxic substances and their metabolites. Further, he also has over 20 years’ experience in the field of workplace air monitoring. His work on biological and air monitoring to assess exposure to isocyanates in motor vehicle repair was recognised internationally and he is considered one of the leading experts in the field in Australia.
