Liliang Ren is currently a professor at Hohai University, the head of the Hydrology and Water Resources Innovation and Talent Introduction Base of the “111 Plan” of the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Science and Technology, Vice Chairman of the IAHS-Panta Rhei China Working Committee, Vice Chairman of the IGBP-iLEAPS China Committee, former Vice Chairman of the International Association of Hydrological Sciences (IAHS), Vice Chairman of the IAHS China National Committee, and co-sponsor of the IAHS New Decade (2013–2022) Science Plan “Panta Rhei”. His main research directions are digital hydrology, land surface hydrological parameterization and scale conversion, the fusion of multi-source spatiotemporal information and distributed hydrological models, and the early warning and forecasting of sudden floods in small- and medium-sized rivers.
