Dr. Tong Wang is a
Distinguished Professor at Harbin Medical University. He earned his PhD. from
the University of Surrey, UK. Dr. Wang has been honored with the Second Prize
for the Science and Technology Progress Award from both the Ministry of Education
and the Government of Heilongjiang Province. He has published
over 100 academic papers focusing on disease surveillance, spatial
epidemiology, selenium research, endemic cardiomyopathy, and gynecological
cancers. Dr. Wang has delivered presentations at international conferences,
including the ESC and WCC. Dr. Wang has also been
endeavoring in translational research in the above areas. As a principal
investigator, Dr. Wang has led research projects funded by the grants of four National
and Health Industry Criteria in China, as well as six grants from the National
Natural Science Foundation of China. He has served as Vice Chairman of the
Endemic Disease Sub-Committee of the Chinese Medical Association, a member of
the National Committee on Standards for Endemic Diseases, and a member of the
Endemic Disease Sub-Committee of the Expert Advisory Committee for Disease
Control and Prevention, Ministry of Health. He was the Director of the
Institute of Keshan Disease at the Chinese Center for Endemic Disease Control
at Harbin Medical University in 2002-2015.
Additionally, Dr.
Wang is a member of the editorial boards of the Int Journal of Occup Med and
Environ Health, the Chinese Journal of Endemiology, and Health World.
