Assoc. Prof. Irina Meghea graduated from the University of Bucharest,
Faculty of Mathematics, studying Mechanics of Fluids in 1990, with a PhD on Variational
Methods in Mechanics in 1999. Teaching activity, 1990 – present, is at POLITEHNICA
Bucharest. The experience acquired in the teaching activity was exploited in a
treatise with a total of 3500 pages, the Treatise on Differential Calculus and
Integral Calculus for mathematicians, physicists, chemists, and engineers in 10
volumes that appeared at OCP, Philadelphia and ÉAC, Paris in 2015. The
research activity was developed on varying methods involved in real
phenomena modeling and statistics used in engineering. The scientific activity was
capitalized in a monograph, 540 pages in 2009, the Ekeland variational principle
with generalizations and variants, another 9 books, 32 articles in ISI
journals, 39 papers in ISI conference volumes, a patent, participation in 26 research
projects, and 7 international papers, being the director of 3 of them. Regarding the scientific
recognition, I was an invited professor at several universities, member in 5
international professional organizations, president of national organization
committee at 12 international scientific manifestations, reviewer at 20 ISI
journals, and guest editor at an ISI journal. My intention for future activity is
to develop advanced research in finding new models for various processes that
can be solved via variational methods.
