Shigeru Tada is a full professor in the Department of Applied Physics, National Defense Academy of Japan. He obtained a B.A. and an M.A. from the Tokyo Institute of Technology in 1987 and 1989, respectively. He received his Ph.D. from the Graduate School of Mechanical Engineering, Tokyo Institute of Technology, in 1992. In the same year, he served as a Research Fellow at the Aerodynamics Laboratory of the Railway Technical Research Institute and as a Research Associate at the Tokyo Institute of Technology. In 1998, he was a Visiting Researcher in the Biomolecular Transport Dynamics Laboratory, Pennsylvania State University. He joined the National Defense Academy as an associate professor in 2007 and became a professor in 2011. His research interests include biofluid dynamics, mathematical physiology, and heat and mass transport dynamics.
