Dr. Diego Batista currently serves as an Adjunct Professor at Universidade Federal da Paraíba. He works with in vitro micropropagation of plants combined with molecular biology techniques, aiming to understand the morphogenesis processes as well as secondary metabolites production and its regulation by abiotic effects. He received his Master/Plant Physiology and Doctorate/Plant Physiology at Universidade Federal de Viçosa in 2012 and 2016. Moreover, he worked as an Academic visitor at John Innes Centre (2014-2015), then as a Postdoctoral Researcher (2016-2018) and Senior Researcher (2018-2019) at Universidade Federal de Viçosa and Universidade Estadual do Maranhão. His research interests mainly include plant physiology, plant biology, Phytohormones, Drought stress, and Botany.
Dr. Fábio Afonso Mazzei Moura De Assis Figueiredo is an Agricultural Engineer who graduated from the Universidade Estadual do Norte Fluminense Darcy Ribeiro (2004). He received his PhD in Plant Production from the same institution (2011). He completed his postdoctoral studies with an emphasis on plant ecophysiology, with a scholarship from the National Postdoctoral Program - PNPD CAPES, in the Plant Physiology Laboratory of UENF. He is currently an Adjunct Professor III at the Universidade Estadual do Maranhão, in the Bachelor's Degree in Animal Science, and Permanent Professor of the Master's Degree in Agriculture and Environment, and a Professor of the REDE BIONORTE. He has experience in the area of Silviculture and Plant Ecophysiology, working on research projects with propagation and technologies for the production and quality of forest seedlings; Management of forest species in pure and intercropped systems; Restoration; Agroforestry Systems; Production Physiology. He currently holds the position of Deputy Pro-Rector for Research and Postgraduate Studies.
