Xu Lei is a professor and associate dean of the Faculty of Psychology at Southwest University. He received the National Program for Young Talents award and was named Distinguished Professor as part of the Chongqing "Bayu Scholar" program. He also serves as the director of the Sleep and NeuroImaging Center at Southwest University. In 2005, he received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC), followed by his Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from UESTC in 2011. His research interests include memory consolidation during sleep, emotion regulation after sleep deprivation, brain networks associated with sleep disorders, and data-driven EEG/fMRI fusion.
