Nenad Šuvak, Associate Professor at the School of Applied Mathematics and Informatics, University of Osijek, was born in 1981 in Osijek. He earned his PhD in 2010 at the University of Zagreb, under the supervision of Prof. Mykola Leonenko (Cardiff University, UK) and Prof. Mirta Benšić (University of Osijek, Croatia). On several occasions in the period from 2007 to 2018, he was a guest researcher at the School of Mathematics, Cardiff University, UK. He was the principal investigator of the following projects: "Statistical analysis of diffusion processes and their application in economics and finance" (2009–2010), "Fractional Pearson diffusions" (2014–2015) and "Stochastic models with long-range dependence" (2017–2018). He was a collaborator on the IPA project, "RealForAll—Real-time measurements and forecasting for successful prevention and management of seasonal allergies in Croatia-Serbia cross-border region" (2017 - 2019). He was also one of the leaders of the bilateral project, "Applied stochastic models with short-term and long-term dependency structures between" in the Department of Mathematics of the University of Osijek and the Department of Mathematics of the University of Niš (2019-2022). Currently, he is a collaborator on the Croatian Science Foundation (HRZZ) project, "Scaling in Stochastic Models".
