Dr. Benjamin Aretz is a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of General Practice and Family Medicine, University Hospital Bonn. He received his binational double degree Ph.D. in Demography - Population Health from the University of Rostock (Germany) and the University of Groningen (the Netherlands) in 2023. His dissertation dealt with "Health consequences of exposure to environmental living conditions: Pathways and spatial patterns in Europe“. From 2017 to 2023, he was a research associate at the Institute of Sociology and Demography, University of Rostock. His research interests include Longitudinal Data Analysis, Panel Data Analysis, Causality, Demography and Population Studies, Environmental Exposure and Health, Mediation Analysis, Spatial Econometric Modelling, and Health Services Research.
Prof. Dr. Katrin Balzer is a Professor of Evidence-based Nursing at the University of Lübeck, Germany since 2015, and has dedicated her career to research, education, and leadership in the field of pressure ulcer prevention. Her work spans doctoral research comparing pressure ulcer risk assessment instruments to clinical judgment, contributing to the development of a core outcome set for prevention interventions. As a guideline panel member, she has helped shape international standards in pressure ulcer care. Her educational commitments include lectures and curriculum development for nurses, emphasizing evidence-based practices for pressure ulcer prevention and chronic wound care.
