Dr. Kar-Hai Chu received his MS in Computer Science from Columbia University and his PhD in Communications and Information Sciences from the University of Hawaii. He worked as an Associate Professor of Public Health, focusing on applying technology and social network analysis to interactive online education. His current research explores online technologies to support health science, including mobile apps for tobacco cessation, social media health surveillance, and designing interventions for high school students. His research topics include tobacco control, social network analysis, mobile health, and online social media.
