John L. Sievenpiper currently works as a
Professor, in the Department of Nutritional Sciences and Medicine, Temerty
Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto from 2023. He obtained his Ph.D. in
the Department of Nutritional Sciences, University of Toronto (1999–2004). John
L. Sievenpiper’s research focuses on carbohydrate/fibre metabolism,
cardiometabolic health, clinical practice guidelines, clinical trials,
community and public health nutrition, diabetes and cardiovascular disease,
microbiome, metabolomics, nutritional epidemiology. He has provided expertise
for several national and international medical and public health organizations,
including the Canadian Diabetes Association, the European Association for the
Study of Diabetes, the Canadian Cardiovascular Society, and the American
Society of Nutrition.
