I, Dr. Subuhi Sherwani, completed my PhD in Medical Microbiology at Cardiff University School of Medicine, Cardiff University, the UK, in 2014.  My PhD research work focused on the skin tropic poxvirus Molluscum contagiosum virus (MCV), which causes benign tumours in the human skin. The project involved developing reagents to study the life-cycle of this tumorigenic virus, which lacks an in vitro cell culture system, and explored induced immunity. I then went on to work as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Institute of Infection and Immunity, Cardiff University School of Medicine, UK, on T cell homing in high endothelial venules in Alzheimer's Disease. I am also associated with Prof. Mohd Wajid Khan's research team and participate in Glycation Biology research. Currently I am an Associate Professor of Microbiology and Immunology in the College of Sciences, University of Hail, KSA. I am also a core member of the research team at the Medical and Diagnostic Research Center at the University of Hail. My research focus continues to be on assay development for the investigation of microbiological and immunological disease states, including viruses such as MCV, COVID-19 etc., autoimmune dysfunctions, and cancer. I have received several research grants including the prestigious International Collaborative Research grant, funded by the Ministry of Education, KSA, and a recent grant awarded by the Research, Development and Innovation Authority (RDIA), Ministry of Education, KSA.
