Dr. Pierangelo Za is a Medical Doctor in the Orthopaedics and Traumatology Unit, Università Campus Bio-Medico di Roma. In March 1979, he received his master’s degree in Physics “Cum Laude” from “La Sapienza” University in Rome (Italy). In 1979, he advanced the School of Specialization in Telecommunication Engineering at “Istituto Superiore del Ministero PPTT” (Advanced Institute of Italian Telecommunication Ministry). In 1981, he received a degree in Mathematics from “La Sapienza” University in Rome (Italy). He was a Research Fellow at CNR (the National Council of Research) developing an infrared sensor for satellite applications at the National Laboratories in Frascati (Italy) in 1979–1980, with a Fellowship from CNEN (ENEA) on power lasers for the ignition of nuclear fusion in the Frascati “Tokamak” (Italy). In November 1980, Dr. Pierangelo Za joined the IBM Software Systems International Laboratory in Rome (Italy) as a researcher. He contributed to calculating the orbital plane for the SIRIO's first Italian satellite (“Satellite Italiano di Ricerca Industriale e Operativa”).

Prof. Dr. Rocco Papalia is a Full Professor at the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, Policlinico Universitario Campus Bio-Medico, Roma, Italy. He is also the chairman of the Orthopedic and Trauma Residency Program (Department of Orthopedic Surgery). Prof. Dr. Rocco Papalia received his Ph.D. in “Tissue Regenerations in Orthopedics” (2010) and his master’s degree in Imprenditoria in sanità (2013) from the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery Policlinico Universitario Campus Bio-Medico, Roma, Italy. Since 2023, he has been a member of the executive committee of SIAGASCOT—the Italian Society of Arthroscopy, Knee, Upper Limb, Sports, Cartilage and Orthopedic Technologies—as Vice President. Furthermore, since 2023, he has been the Editor-in-Chief of JOINTS, SIAGASCOT’s official journal, for 2023–2026. Prof. Dr. Rocco Papalia specializes in primary and revision prosthetic surgery (shoulder, hip, knee, and ankle); arthroscopic reconstructive surgery (shoulder, hip, knee, and ankle); sports traumatology (complex ligament injuries of the knee, meniscal injuries, rotator cuff injuries, and treatment of shoulder instability); and cell therapies with the vascular fraction derived from adipose tissue, mesenchymal cells derived from the iliac crest, and growth factors.
