Meysam Basiri received his M.Sc. degree in Systems, Control, and Robotics from KTH, Sweden, in 2010, and holds a dual Ph.D. in Robotics from EPFL, Switzerland, and Electrical and Computer Engineering from IST, Portugal. He is a former Postdoctoral Researcher at the Laboratory of Intelligent Systems at EPFL. Currently, he is a tenured Research Professor at the Institute for Systems and Robotics (ISR) at IST. Dr. Basiri has contributed to numerous internationally funded projects, including RockEU2, SciRoc, SMAVNET, MBZIRC, and DURABLE, and served as Principal Investigator for the Aero.Next project and two H2020 Eurobench projects (MADROB and BEAST). He has also been part of the technical and organizing committees for the European Robotic League (ERL) and has played a key role in designing and executing over 20 international service robotics competitions. His research focuses on aerial robotics, multi-robot systems, field and service robotics, and robot benchmarking.
