Ms.Meab Mdimi received her Bachelor’s of Arts in Sociology from the Open University of Tanzania in 2010, and Master's of Agribusiness from the University of Queensland, Australia, in 2019. She is now pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy at the University of Queensland, Australia. She worked as a senior business advisor and Project Manager in various projects in Tanzania for over 12 years, supporting farmers, agribusiness, and small and medium agribusinesses and women entrepreneurs to build competitive and sustainable businesses. She has also worked with food processors in Tanzania, supporting them to market nutritious food products to the "bottom of the pyramid" consumers as well as developing and support the launching of mobile software for agribusinesses that work in contract with farmers to help communication, product tracking, and mobile payment systems to farmers. Her research topics mainly include; value chain analysis and management, knowledge translation, public health, and business development.
Dr. Benjamin Dent specializes in improving agri-food supply chains’ competitiveness through building their collaboration and sustainability. He has worked with the Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research and the World Vegetable Center on projects in Ethiopia, Tanzania, Malawi, and Mozambique, and he was the lead facilitator for the Australia Awards Agribusiness short courses for Africa and Sri Lanka. He has also worked extensively with farmers and agri-food companies in Australia, Canada, and the UK, where he is based. In addition, he has 12 years’ experience working for the UK government on agriculture, food, and environment policies; and currently chairs the UK Soil Association’s Standards
Board, which certifies an organic market worth over £2.2b/year. His publications include co-authoring A Manual for Agribusiness Value Chain Analysis in Developing Countries. He is an Adjunct Associate Professor at The University of Queensland, on the Board of the Cotswold National Landscape and a director of the Gloucestershire Food and Farming Partnership. He is a fellow of the Royal Geographical Society.
Prof. Simon Reid received his Bachelor’s in Veterinary Biology and Bachelor’s in Veterinary Medicine
and Surgery from Murdoch University, and a Doctor of Philosophy from James Cook University. He is a professor of One Health in the School of Public Health at the University of Queensland. His research focuses on improving multisectoral governance, planning, and implementing responses to manage One Health problems.
Dr. Preetha Thomas received her Master’s (Coursework) of Science from Bharathiar University, a Master’s (Coursework) of Science from the University of London, and a Doctor of Philosophy from The University of Queensland. She is a senior lecturer at the School of Public Health, Faculty of Medicine, University
of Queensland. Her research interests include food sovereignty, migrant food practice and health and food systems.
