Dr. Gerhard Meister is the Instrument Scientist for the Ocean Color Instrument for NASA’s Plankton, Aerosol, Cloud, ocean Ecosystem (PACE) Mission, a member of the NASA Ocean Ecology Branch, and also the chair of the IOCCG task force on ‘Ocean Colour Satellite Sensor Calibration’. He received a diploma and a PhD degree in Physics from the University of Hamburg, Germany, in 1996 and 2000, respectively. Dr. Gerhard Meister’s main focus is the calibration and characterization of satellite-based ocean color sensors, such as SeaWiFS, MODIS, VIIRS, and OCI.
Julia A Barsi is the lead of the Code 610 Calibration Laboratories, which includes the Radiometric Calibration Lab (RCL), the Diffuser Calibration Lab (DCL), and the Goddard Laser for Absolute Measurement of Radiance (GLAMR) at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, USA. She obtained her B.S. and M.S. in Imaging Science from Rochester Institute of Technology in 1997 and 2000, respectively. Julia A Barsi previously worked as a radiometric calibration analyst for the Landsat calibration team.
