Xiaoyong Yin is a Phd Student of Urban and Rural Planning of the School of Architecture, Tsinghua University, China. He received his Master of Engineering in Urban and Rural Planning from Tongji University, China, and his Dual Master’s Degree in Architecture and Urban Design and Urban Planning and Design from Ecole Nationale Supérieure d'Architecture de Strasbourg, France, in 2017. He also obtained the professional qualification certificate of “National Registered Urban and Rural Planner” when he worked in the China Academy of Urban Planning and Design from 2017 to 2021. He has published 16 papers on urban regeneration and planning governance.
Yiming Tang received her Master of Engineering in Urban and Rural Planning from Tongji
University and Master of Science in Advanced Urban Study from Bauhaus University Weimar in 2017. She worked as an urban planner at Guangzhou Urban Planning and Design Survey Research Institute Co., Ltd. from 2017 until now and was promoted to senior urban planner in 2024. In 2019, she was dispatched by the Guangzhou Municipal Government to the UN-Habitat head office in Nairobi as an urban planning consultant. Her research topics mainly include urban regeneration, the renovation of old urban residential communities and land reserve and development.
Lei Yuan is a senior engineer and the Deputy Director of the Urban Renovation Institute, Guangzhou Urban Planning and Design Survey Research Institute Co., Ltd. With more than 13 years of professional experience, he has consistently monitored and directed the strategic planning and urban design for critical regions in Guangzhou. His areas of expertise include land reserve and development, land-use policy, the economic equilibrium and urban management.
Yongjun Ai is the director of the Urban Renovation Institute and Head of the Southwest Branch of the Guangzhou Urban Planning and Design Survey Research Institute Co., Ltd. He has been dedicated to the fields of territorial spatial planning, urban planning and design, as well as urban regeneration for nearly 19 years. He is a professor-level senior engineer and a certified urban and rural planner. He has also authored monographs: “The Path to High-Quality Development in Xiong’an: Planning and Design of the Xiongxian County Cluster in Xiong’an New Area” and “Evaluation and Planning of Urban Ecological Area”.
Prof. Yan Tang is a Tenured Professor at the School of Architecture, Tsinghua University. She also is a doctoral supervisor, the Dean’s assistant and Deputy Director of the Department of Urban Planning. She completed her PhD studies in Urban and Rural Planning at Tsinghua University in 2007. She has been in charge of many national and provincial research projects, including the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the Beijing Social Science Foundation and has won many domestic and international awards, including the first prize of "China National Excellent Planning and Design" and the "Silver Award of Paris International Invention Exhibition". She has published more than 150 papers and 15 books on urban design, urban regeneration, urban and rural planning governance, etc.
