Alberto Palazzuoli is a well-known Italian cardiologist with
vast research activity, primarily focused on heart failure treatment and the
impact of comorbidities in heart failure. He is the main author of at least 230
English papers on the impact of renal dysfunction in heart failure, acute heart
failure management, and the diagnostic and prognostic relevance of biomarkers
in heart failure and coronary diseases. He is also involved in research
activity on cardiovascular imaging and the most relevant echocardiographic
parameters for risk assessment. He is credited as Chair of the SIC group
of Cardiac insufficiency and he is one of the researchers who coined the term
“cardiorenal syndrome”.He is into the editorial board Imaging Study group of Heart Failure Association.He has advanced the field of cardiorenal medicine,
including randomized trials and key studies using modern measures of proteomics
and metabolomics. Over the years, he has attended several recognized
institutes, such as the Thorax Center Rotterdam, Northwestern University of
Chicago, and Bristol Heart Institute, UK.
Prof. Dr. Francesco Fedele is a Full Professor of Cardiology and Director of the Specialization School for Cardiologist of “La Sapienza” University of Rome, and Chief of Cardiology at the Department of Cardiovascular, Respiratory, Nephrology and Geriatrics Sciences at the “Policlinico Umberto I” Hospital. He has been a principal investigator in several International Clinical Trials and authored over 700 publications on national and international journals in research fields such as cardiorespiratory pathophysiology, pathophysiology of ischemic heart disease, acute myocardial infarction, systemic and pulmonary hypertension, heart failure, echocardiography, and clinical pharmacological therapy.
