Hadi Sarvari is a researcher in the built environment at Birmingham City University and an assistant professor of civil engineering at the Islamic Azad University Khorasgan Branch. He graduated from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, where he received his Ph.D. in Construction Engineering. After graduation, he was a post-doctoral researcher in building and real estate at Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He was also a research associate at the University of Liverpool. His teaching and research interests include construction contract management, management information systems, construction project planning and control, engineering systems analysis, maintenance management, and evaluation of performance in the construction of infrastructure projects. In 2018, he was awarded the Best Lecturer Award in the educational field, and 2021, he was also awarded as a distinguished researcher.
David J. Edwards graduated from the University of Wolverhampton, where he received his B.Sc. (Hons) and Ph.D. in Construction Management and Plant Management. Then, he became a senior lecturer at Loughborough University (2002–2010), an adjunct professor at Curtin University (2009–2014), a National Chairman at the Contractors Mechanical Plant Engineers (2012–2014), the Head of Faculty Research and Director of the Centre for Business Innovation and Enterprise (CBIE) at the Birmingham City University (2010–2015), a visiting professor at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (2011–2016), and a researcher at the University of Canberra (2020–2021). He is now a visiting professor at Nelson Mandela University, a docent at the University of Oulu, a professor in Built Environment at Birmingham City University, an honorary professor at Deakin University, a distinguished visiting professor at the University of Johannesburg, and an adjunct professor at the University of South Australia. He is also a founder of the Off-Highway Plant and Equipment Research Centre (OPERC). His work has been funded through engineering councils, government bodies (e.g., HSE, National Highways, UK Home Office and Defence Logistic Organisation, UK Ministry of Defence), and extensive industrial collaborations internationally.
Chris J. Roberts holds a B.Sc. (Hons) in Planning, Environment, and Development, City/Urban Community, and Regional Planning, and a Ph.D. in Post-occupancy Evaluation from Birmingham City University. After graduation, he joined the same university and is now a lecturer in Built Environment. His primary research interests pertain to reducing the impact of the built environment upon the natural environment and addressing the climate crisis. He also won the Emerald Literati Awards—Outstanding Reviewer of the Year 2022 (International Journal of Building Pathology and Adaptation), the Emerald Literati Awards—Outstanding Reviewer of the Year 2021 (Journal of Engineering Design and Technology), and the Leslie Ginsburg Award for Planning (2016).
