Candidate of Sciences (geology, 1985), graduated from Voronezh State University (1968) with a degree in geology, an employee of the Geological Institute of the KSC, conducted research on stratigraphy, tectonics, metamorphism, and geodynamics in almost the entire territory of the Murmansk region. He took part in the compilation of geological maps, and volumetric geological, geophysical, and geochemical models of the Pechengsko-Allarechensk district. Over the years, he has become a recognized specialist in the field of regional geology and petrology of metamorphic rocks of the Northeastern Baltic Shield, especially interested in solving the problems of stratigraphy, metamorphism, and tectonics of the Early Precambrian of the Kola region. The results of this long-term research activity are presented in more than 140 scientific publications.
