Kerim Çiçek is a full professor in the Department of Biology at Ege University in Izmir, Türkiye, where he teaches courses on biodiversity, zoology, and ecology. Throughout his career, he has authored or co-authored numerous peer-reviewed scientific publications, including more than 70 indexed in the Web of Science. Having worked in evolutionary and ecological research for almost two decades, he mainly works on the herpetofauna of Turkey. His expertise includes biogeography, ecological and mechanistic niche modeling, population dynamics, and conservation of the rich biodiversity of Türkiye.
