Prof. Aixiang Wu is the deputy director of the University Affairs Committee, dean of the Institute of Deep Earth Rock Engineering Science, and a professor and doctoral supervisor at the University of Science and Technology Beijing. He holds bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees in mining engineering from the Central South University of Technology. He has long been committed to research on green mining theory, technology, equipment, and engineering applications, and is a major pioneer in China's green mining field, focusing on full tailings paste-filling. He has presided over more than 20 national scientific research projects and subjects. He has won four second prizes in the National Science and Technology Progress Award, won a National Innovation Award, and won one special prize and six first place provincial and ministerial science and technology prizes. He presided over the formulation of 2 national standards, authorized more than 60 invention patents, published 6 monographs in Chinese and English, and published more than 300 papers as the first author/corresponding author. He was elected as an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering in 2023. He is the director of the Mining Branch of the Chinese Society for Metals and the deputy director of the Mining Academic Committee of the China Nonferrous Metals Society. He is the editor-in-chief of both the International Journal of Minerals, Metallurgy and Materials and the Chinese Journal of Engineering Science.
Dr. Zhuen Ruan is an associate professor and master’s supervisor at the School of Civil and Resource Engineering, University of Science and Technology Beijing. He holds bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees in mining engineering from the University of Science and Technology Beijing. He was a visiting scholar in Applied Mathematical Engineering at the University of Concepción. He is mainly engaged in research on the green mining of metal ore paste filling and particle rheology. He was selected for the 7th China Association for Science and Technology Young Talent Support Project. He also serves as the secretary of the 7th Mining Branch of the Chinese Society for Metals and the secretary of the Industrial Rheology Professional Group of the Chinese Society of Rheology. He has published more than 30 SCI/EI papers as the first author and corresponding author, authorized more than 10 invention patents, and published 1 academic monograph. He has presided over or participated in more than 10 projects, including the National Natural Science Foundation Youth Project, the China Postdoctoral Science Foundation First-Class Funding Project, the National Natural Science Foundation Key Project, and the National Key R&D Program Project. He has won three special prizes, three first prizes, and two second prizes in the provincial and ministerial science and technology progress awards.
