Dr. Y Selvamani is an Assistant Professor at the School of Public Health, SRM Institute of Science
and Technology, Kattankulathur, Chengalpattu (near Chennai), Tamil Nadu, India. He earned a B.A. in Economics from St. Xavier’s College in 2007, an M.A in Social Work from Loyola College, Chennai, in 2009, and a MPS (Master of Population Studies), an M.Phil, and a PhD in Population Studies from IIPS
(International Institute for Population Sciences-Mumbai) in 2013, 2014, and 2020, respectively. He worked as a Research Assistant at the World Population Program, International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA), Austria.
He is a member of the International Union for the Scientific Study of Population (IUSSP), the Asian Population Association (APA), and the International Institute for Population Sciences Alumni Association (IIPSAA).
His research interests include Population Ageing and Public Health, Social
Epidemiology, Family Demography, and Life Course Epidemiology.
