Prof. Dr. Andrea Porzionato is a Full Professor at the
Department of Neurosciences, Institute of Human Anatomy, University of Padova,
Italy. He earned his medical degree in 2001, a specialization in legal medicine
in 2005, and a PhD in neuroscience in 2009 from the University of Padova. His main research interests include neuroscience (central and peripheral
chemoreceptors, neuroanatomy/physiology of enteric neurons, and
neuroanatomy/neuropathology of the brainstem), regenerative medicine and tissue
engineering (development of biological scaffolds through decellularization and
innovative artificial materials), and clinical anatomy.
