Dr. Norberto M. Grzywacz received his BSc in Physics
and Mathematics, Ph.D. in Neurobiology from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem,
and Post-doc in Computational and Cognitive Neuroscience from MIT. He is the
former Provost and Chief Academic Officer of Loyola University Chicago and the
Dean of the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences of Georgetown University.
Before that, he was the Chair of the Department of Biomedical Engineering and
the Director of the Neuroscience Graduate Program at USC. Currently, he is a
Professor at the Department of Psychology of Loyola University Chicago and a
Special Advisor to the Dean on Matters of AI at the Krieger School of Arts and
Sciences of Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Grzywacz's research interests include
Reinforcement Learning of Values and their Contributions to Decision-Making,
Mechanisms of Value Individuality with a focus on Aesthetics, Social
Contributions to the Learning of Aesthetic Values, and Cognitive Neuroscience
of Aesthetic Emotions.
