Assoc. Prof. Dr. Martin Martinek, MD, PhD, MBA, is Head of Internal Medicine 2 with Cardiology, Angiology, and Intensive Care Medicine at Ordensklinikum Linz Elisabethinen, Austria. He defended his "Habilitation" (Associate Professorship) at the University of Innsbruck, Austria, in 2011, focusing on new developments in atrial fibrillation ablation. In 2014, he became a Visiting Professor of Cardiology at the University of Vienna. In 2018, he finished an MBA in Health Care Management at the JKU University of Linz, Austria. In 2024, he defended his PhD, focusing on AF management, at the University of Maastricht, the Netherlands. His main expertise is ablation therapy, including SVT, AF, endocardial, and epicardial VT. He has EHRA accreditation for Electrophysiology and Pacemakers/ICDs and is Head of the working group on EP of the Austrian Society of Cardiology (2017-2019). He was a Member of the EHRA website committee (2016-2017), and a Member of the EHRA program committee for scientific congresses (2016-2017). In 2015, he obtained a Diploma for Clinical Studies from, the Austrian Medical Chamber.
