Dr. Vanderson Sampaio holds a PhD in Tropical Medicine from the University of the State of Amazonas. He also has a Master’s degree in Genetics and Molecular Biology from the Federal University of Pará, and a specialization in Bioinformatics from the National Laboratory of Scientific Computing (LNCC). His academic journey began with a Biology degree from the Federal University of Pará in 2001.
Currently, he is a Researcher and the Director of Operations at the Instituto Todos pela Saúde, where he coordinates projects focused on strengthening Brazil’s public health system (SUS) in pandemic preparedness and response. He previously served as an Associate Researcher at the Fundação de Medicina Tropical Dr. Heitor Vieira Dourado (FMT-HVD), working on national and international research projects related to infectious and tropical diseases such as malaria, tuberculosis, arboviruses, HIV/AIDS, leishmaniasis, and Chagas disease.
He has also held leadership roles in academia, including Coordinator and Professor in the Tropical Medicine Graduate Program (UEA/FMT-HVD), and is a permanent member of Public Health Programs at Fiocruz-ILMD/UFAM/UEA, where he advises Master’s and PhD students.
Professor Vanderson has more than 130 peer-reviewed papers published in international journals.
