Dr. Huachao Dong received his B.S. and Ph.D. degrees from
Northwestern Polytechnical University, Xi’an, China, in 2011 and 2017,
respectively. From 2017 to 2020, he was a Post-Doctoral Researcher at the
University of Victoria, Victoria, Canada. He is currently an Associate
Professor at Northwestern Polytechnical University. His research interests
include surrogate-based optimization, evolutionary optimization, machine
learning, and the design of underwater vehicles.
