Nicolas Girard is a pneumologist specializing in thoracic oncology, treating patients with lung or rare thoracic cancers. His expertise ranges from the development of perioperative strategies in resectable tumors to the management of locally advanced disease and oncogene-addicted tumors, especially EGFR-mutant NSCLC. He is experienced in the treatment of thymic tumors—thymomas and thymic carcinomas—as part of his work in the RYTHMIC network. He is domain leader for rare thoracic cancers for the European Reference Network EURACAN. Nicolas Girard is involved in several clinical and translational research projects aiming at improving the treatment of these cancers. He is a Professor of Respiratory Medicine at the Versailles Saint Quentin University, Paris Saclay Campus. He is the Head of the Curie-Montsouris Thorax Institute and Chair of the Medical Oncology Department at Institut Curie in Paris.
Christos Chouaid is a pulmonologist, a specialist in thoracic oncology, and a graduate in Public Health. He is a University Professor at Paris XII, Créteil. He holds a PhD in Public Health from the University of Paris VI. He coordinates the GFPC (Groupe de Pneumo Cancérologie Clinique), an academic research network of about fifty specialized centers in France. He is particularly involved in clinical research on real-life data and has acquired expertise in the field of medico-economic analysis in thoracic oncology, which is recognized at national and international levels. He is a member of several learned societies and is an expert in more than 20 scientific journals in the fields of thoracic oncology, respiratory diseases, and medico-economics. He is an author of more than 250 Medline-indexed manuscripts.
