Xianfeng Song is a professor and doctoral advisor at the College of Resources and Environment,
University of Chinese Academy of Sciences. He received a BS and an MS from the China University of Mining and Technology in 1992 and 1995, respectively. Thereafter, he received his PhD from the Institute of Geography, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1998. He is an editorial board member of the
International Journal of Geoinformatics and a charter member of the Open Source Geospatial Foundation. He is also a senior advisor to the Science and Technology Committee of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of Laos. His research interests include environmental Modeling and Resource Management with Remote Sensing and GIS, Open Standard and Open Source Geospatial Engineering, and Geo-sensor networks for environmental data capture.
Runkui Li is an associate professor at the College of Resources and Environment, University of Chinese Academy of Sciences. He received a B.E. from Taiyuan University of Technology in 2004 and a PhD from the Institute of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resources Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2010. He worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2010-2012. He won First prize in the 5th National Young GIS Teachers Lecturing Competition in 2019 and First prize of the first Young Teachers' Basic Teaching Skills Competition of UCAS in 2023. His research interests include (1) spatio-temporal modeling and suitability; (2) climate risk assessment of renewable energy generation; and (3) Geoinformation extraction, change detection, and prediction.
