Prof. Dr. Binshan Ju is a Professor in the School of Energy Resources, China University of Geosciences, Beijing (CUGB). He was nominated as a candidate for Yangtze River Scholars Distinguished Professor and a candidate for Eni Award 2015. His major research interest is the exploration and development of fossil energy, mainly including conventional and unconventional petroleum and gas. He received his bachelor’s degree in Reservoir Engineering from the Petroleum Department of China University of Petroleum, East China (CUPEC) in 1996, and received his Master’s Degree in Oil and Gas Engineering from the Petroleum Department of CUPEC in 1999. He was employed as a faculty member of the Petroleum Department of CUPEC (1999-2004). He got a new start in the Development Engineering of Oil and Gas as a Ph.D. candidate at the School of Energy Resources, CUGB, in 2004 and then received his Ph.D. two years later. In 2006, he began to engage in teaching and scientific research in the energy resources field as a faculty member of CUGB. He was a post-doctoral fellow in Petroleum Engineering at the Colorado School of Mines (2009-2010). He conducted research in Oil, Water, and CO2 Flow in Reservoirs and CO2 flooding numerical simulator development during the post-doctoral position.
