Meiping Zhang is a Professor in the Department of Plant Biotechnology and Genomics at Jilin Agricultural University, China. She received her Ph.D. in the field of agronomy from Jilin Agricultural University, China, in 1999 and her MS in biology from Harbin Normal University, China, in 1990. She engages in plant genomics and systems biology research in ginseng, maize, rice, soybean, and cotton. Since the 20th session, she has served as the chairman of the branch of Systematic Genomics of the International Congress of Animal and Plant Genomes.
