Prof. Dr. Julia Nerantzia Tzortzi is an Associate Professor in the Department of Architecture, Built Environment, and Construction Engineering of Politecnico di Milano, Italy. She holds a PhD in Landscape and Bioclimatic Environmental Design in Green and Urban Areas from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. She was also a Professor at the Neapolis University of Cyprus and the International University of Greece and a Visiting Professor at several universities (ZUST University—China, Hellenic Open University—Greece, and Thessaly University—Greece). In the last 25 years, she has led more than 30 European Programs, with an emphasis on natural-based solutions, climate change, cultural landscapes, and environmental projection and design. Prof. Tzortzi is also a Board Member of LE: NOTRE Institute, a Fellow of Landscape Institute (UK), and a Member of AIAPP (Italy), PHALA (Greece), ETEK (Cyprus), and IFLA (International Federation of Landscape Architects). She has also served as an Executive Professional in Landscape Architecture at the Ministry of Environment, Urban Planning, and Energy—Climate Change of Greece for 15 years. During her service at the Ministry, she has served as the National Contact Point at the LIFE Project, a Special Scientist at the Athens 2004 Olympic Games, and a General Project Manager at the Environmental Awareness Park Organization of Antonis Tritsis.
